I remember when I was young and watched old TV shows and seen how politicians debated. It seemed as if the most important thing to debate was the issues of the time. Now it seems during a historical election where a black man and woman are running for President it all coming out as a circus to me. Both Obama and Clinton can make strides for each race and gender but it seems as they are just making a mockery of our election system. They both look like little kids pointing fingers and no one has made a clear view of what they impose to do if elected. For me, it does not matter if they are black or a woman. Both have gone through struggles going up the ladder to get where they are. It just seems to me that the media is forcing people to decide if you want a woman or a black man for our President instead at looking at issues. That’s why I gave up on politics. I lost faith in our whole system. Since the California election back, I think in 2001 where we had just anyone run for governor. We had ex-porn star who said we should all have lap dances during the California election. It all seemed like a joke.
Now we have these two historical candidates who are going on program and on wrestling matches giving each other nicknames just like the wrestlers. It seemed like a joke. I understand why they were doing it but is that really the way. Everything is turning into a circus.
Back in the 2000 presidential election they made it seem like it was a beauty pageant. It seemed like they wanted us to Vote for the best looking person.
The election should be about the ideas to make our country good again. Now for the first time we have these two individuals who can make great strides for women and people of color. Instead, in my opinion, it’s a mockery.

Um... it's Obama, not Osama. Or is that an intentional typo?
we're going to do something about it. the MEDIA is the filter; the MEDIA is the problem. he CANDIDATES are the problem to the extent they feed the MEDIA what it wants. but even when the MEDIA is given more, it parades the sound bite.
sound bites kill.
oh my goodness - I'll bet it was a typo. I didn't even notice it until you drew my eyes to it.
the Osama was a typo. thanks for Catching the mistake.
As for the media being the problem I agree but my thing is Why are the candidates letting it happen. They are running for President and the leader of the free world. Why not show some leadership towards the public and take a stands. Isn't that why Tabor gave us the team assignments, To see where the candidates really stand. They should take initiative and take control. I'm not a supporter of President Bush but at least he makes decisions without a care. He goes I'm president and I'm making the decisions no matter what anyone thinks. They are bad decisons I think but at least he makes them. The candidates are letting the media run the show
What about Clinton inviting Obama to a media-free open debate and Obama's decline?
